CHERUTICH GARETH KIPKOECH
Mechatronic Engineering Student
Hello, I'm currently a third year Mechatronic engineering student at jomo Kenyatta Univerisity of Agriculture and technology.I'm motivated by the opportunities to create new concepts and solutions to any problem at hand while at the same time making the process fun, memorable and rich in quality.
I am continuously learning from the environment and colleagues around me and so far the following are my skills :
The following is my educational background and experience in the real world
Bachelor of Science Mechatronic Engineering
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education(K.C.S.E)
Grade - 78 points (A-)
This was a 12 week external attachment where I had the oportunity to learn embedded systems on an in depth level using microcontrollers such as Raspberry Pi Pico W , ESP32 and arduino boards to make simple to intermediate projects such as an access control system that reads cards to open a lock.I spent most of my time in the Gearbox Academy Department where I dealt with mostly embedded systems but also had some time in the Gearbox mechanical department where I interacted with .... To be Continued.
I follow the community via youtube and learnt different programming languages such as python, C ,C++ and Java. Currently I am learning Machine Learning and how it can be applied to the real world through image recognition, self driving vehicles and many more applications that I hope to make a reality
I enrolled in a 4 week training programme where I learnt the basics of automation, Internet of Things and hardware programming using Arduino Uno and ESP 2286 microcontrollers
During this 8 week training, I was able to familiarize with the various workshops in the school such as fitting, machine shop, motor vehicle, welding, wood working, plumbing, prototyping, construction and electrical machines workshops. Each workshop taught a different skills and this also enabled me to identify my areas of interest such as rapid prototyping
The following list shows the projects undertaken during my time in engineering :
